African Cravan in Okinawa

The African caravan in Okinawa was held on the 20th October 2007,This was a show to show African dances, dressing and to teach some of the African way to the Japanese people. As for me I was participating in the dressing show and it was kind fan to have to dress like that but I loved it because it made me look more African.
We had a nice day with my classmates, and other participants from the college or the centre(OIC).

A number of things were lined up like the the Africa dance and Taiko workshop,African songs, the traditional costume fashion show which I took part.

Specail lecture for animation

Our two day special lecture for clay animation at the University of Arts was just grate for me because i always want to do animation for children and mostly my son Chongo.I think its a very good topic "Reborn Building" a topic on global warming. It took us one full day to produce a 7 seconds programme. We worked with the student from the university and they were very helpfull.
At lunch we had a chance to take a meal at the university dinning and we had to test a sea weed which was part of the food I think it was nice but the colour put me off but the other guys even Mr Green finished his plate of the sea weed.

As we were going out for lunch we could not find our way to the dinning hall and we ended up I think on the frist floor and found this woman you see in the photo with Daysah and me

The sea weed was mix with beans and I think with oil and same sult but the only thing i did not know was if it was cooked or not.but you can still have a look.

Ladies lunch

As the MTEC ladies traditions one day in a month is pick to have lunch the MTEC ladies staff and participants and our first lunch was at a Turkish restaurant
called Kelebeke we had a very nice time especially that it was my first time
eating out of OIC dinning hall

Japanese class

As the saying goes "if you cant win them join them" in okinawa very few people can
use English but at OIC you can use english as much as you want.To help us learn the
Japanese language the centre offers an introductory class on how we can use simple
conversation in Japanese like;asking for the price, place, names of things, greeting and even when eating out or Just common things we come across during our study in Okinawa. So as the 2007 Digital Video Production for Education Dissemination we did our
25 hours of the NHONGO class and we had to do a final presentation on the given Topics. My topic with my partner Hasan was getting food at a market and among the topics it was the shorts conversation out of the five topics given.

This is one of my morning presentation and I was explaining my action plan for the year 2008 when I go back to my country Zambia, how I will use the training/skills got from MTEC at OIC
